Mason Cable Network has opportunities for everyone to be involved. You don’t need to have experience to work with us because we’ll teach you what you need to know. Whether it be production, pre-production, on-camera experience, public relations, you name it, we have it.
If you’d like to volunteer at Mason Cable Network to work on a show, a broadcast, edit a video or help spread the word about the channel, you can drop the HUB (formerly Student Union Building II) and visit us in the Office of Student Media. If you’re specifically interested about production, you can attend one of our production meetings on Fridays at 9 a.m. in the Office of Student Media and be assigned to a shoot.
PLEASE NOTE: All positions are on a volunteer basis, but you will be gaining valuable experience that will look amazing on a resume or in a demo reel.
Students looking for volunteer hours should go to these meetings. It is MCN policy that we will not accept those looking for volunteer class hours after May 2nd. Please get your hours in early.
Just let us know! Feel free and email us at MCN@gmu.edu if you have any questions about the network or a specific opportunity. Please copy Production Manager Kaitlin McClung at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re here for you.
-The Pressbox Operations Crew Needed: Pressbox, MCN’s sport talk program, now 3 episodes in, is in need of a production crew. The following positions are open: Switcher Operator, 2 Production Assistants. Show films at 6 p.m. from 7 p.m. Crew call is 5 p.m. to engage in Setup.
-Mason Day is on April 26! If anybody would like to go out and film part of the day, feel free! If you have your own camera, you can use that. If not, you can use ours.
Don’t know what you want to be involved with just yet? Email us at MCN@GMU.EDU and we’ll inform you of what’s coming up or visit our website at MasonCableNetwork.com to see a complete list of opportunities. You can also stop by our production meetings to jump on whatever production you’d like.
